PRIDE!

Nationalism, politics and Sexuality?

We have to write from the context of the Bible in relation to this matter of human failure and a misunderstanding of what Pride is and what it means is not good!

God has no time for pride or the proud, because it is a self-imposed block to faith! We see it at work everyday in our world, people stubborn, disobedient and restless to oppose God and man in not giving up their traditions, marching and walking forcing their religious beliefs on others with threats of death?

Trying to prove to others that they have to accept their new ways or their political views of segregation and many other twisted ideals!

But God has offered to us in love His one and only Son Jesus, all who repent and place their faith in Him will be saved from the twisted ideals of humanity and their past failures!

Leviticus 26:19,   Job 35:12,   Proverbs 8:13,   13:10,   Mark 7:22,   Romans 12:9,   1 Corinthians 13:4,   2 Corinthians 5:14,   Hebrews 13:5,   James 1:12,  1 John 1:3.

Arrogance?

Those in Power!

Governments practice arrogance most of the time they like to make big promises or abuse peoples trust, and use disasters to prop up their re-election campaign or media publicity?

They believe that they can pull it off and they do for a time, but then all that hype and famous stuff about them starts to slip away as people seek that they are the real, ‘Fake News of their own making!

God does not like pride and arrogance, but especially those who profess a faith in Him! These folks will be taken down, if they refuse to humble themselves and to be seen doing it before the world, nation and God?

Psalm 131:1,   Proverbs 13:16,   Isaiah 2:17,   Matthew 23:12,   Luke 14:11,   1 Peter 5:5.

Refugees. Two.

1845 to 2016.

Millions left Ireland, as they have many other lands to flee faminine and other economic disasters, but at the same time many have come to Ireland to find the hospitality of the Irish and feel let down?

We will always have refuugees of one kind or another, some will be dishonest while others true? This is the same for all humans, because of inherited sin, when we start to thinkl we are better than the rest then we have really misunderstood what God’s love, mery and forgiviness is all about?

Leviticus 25:35-38,  Psalm 37:25-26,  Proverbs 12:10,  Matthew 5;7,  Mark 11:25-26,  Luke 11:4,  John 5:42.

Holocuast unbelievers. Part-Three.

Black people.

There is sadly as many people today in Europe and N-America who think that black people are not fully human, many of their ideas stem from 19th Century Eugenics. There are various terms used to cover these root factors such as racism and intitutionalism, but the truth is much bare.

Black people have had it hard in white society for the last 600 years, but Jewish people have suffered under black people and other nations for the last 4000 years. The problem is really the sinfulness of the human heart in relation to jealousy and pride and if we say we have faith in God we need to be rid of these ideas.

Exodus 6:6-8,    Judges 12:6,    1 John 1:7-10.

Wealth. Part-One.

Responsibility.

Many people today are rich and so are many Christians, but it is we who need to be responsible with how we use our wealth. Many Christians are into the prosperity gospel and with it believe they can bi-pass the poor and the weak around them.

Many people want to enjoy life and have it in this world, but they perhaps should read the bible in relation to the many accounts that Jesus told us about those kinds of people!

Job 22:6-9,  Luke 12:17-21,  16:19-31.

‘Christmas is coming. Part-Three.

A time to share.

Many people over this season will give up and comit suicide, others will block it out because of rejection and loneliness. Some don’t believe in it anyway. But what is our response to it?  Psalm 10:2,  59:12,  Luke 10:34-35.

God allowed His son Jesus to be born in a stable, becuase despite being a King he was to serve us in His humility. Poverty for a start, is to show us do we really care about others and can we be generous and forgive failings. Mark 7:22,  Luke 2:8-20.

It is pride that closes our hearts at this time of the year, but we should know that this is never Gods way.  Mark 11:25-26,  1 John 1:9.
