Papal Visit? Two.

Low Turnout!

Was it the weather or the failed visit to Northern-Ireland that thwarted this second visit by a Pope to Ireland?

Many people were very disappointed that he could not go to the North, after Ireland had to submit to the Queen of England coming to the Republic to please the other side?

Perhaps the truth was much more with the current trends in society and also his failure to seriously speak out on the abuse in the Church and what he was going to do about it!

Sadly the truth is that many Catholics today live with the world and so does this Pope, who has made some startling claims, which are contradictory to Biblical teaching such as the forgiveness of Judas and that he does not believe in Hell?

Matthew 10:28,   Romans 8:34,   Hebrews 10:12.

Papal Visit! One.

What is Expected?

Many people in Ireland are hoping that during this Papal visit the first since 1979, the new Pope will apologise for all the hurt and pain of what Nuns, monks and priests have done over the years in the various sexual scandals to have rocked the country?

But if one knows the Roman Catholic Church, one should know that everything moves very slowly and it is unlikely this Pope like any other will not have much to say!

People in Ireland have moved on into what is described as a modern society, but the reality for the many who believe the nation is now on the verge of paganism and hostile to the Christian faith?

Salvation only comes through faith in Jesus as the Son of God who died once for our failures, priest, man, pope cannot save us! Only by confession, repentance and faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus will we have the full assurance of Eternal Life!

Job 30:25,  Proverbs 23:29,   Jeremiah 8:6,   Malachi 3:14,   Mark 3:5,   Luke 5:32,  Romans 2:4.

A month of Saints. Part-One.

Saint David and Saint Piran.

1st March Cymru-Wales, 5th March Curnow-Cornwall.

Very little is known about these two men, but what an impact as Christian believers preaching the ‘Good News message they have had over the last 1500 years in the western regions of mainland Britain.

Many people will jump up and protest that these were good Catholics, but how wrong you are. These men like Saint Patrick, the establisher of Celtic Christianity and mission was a born again Christian and His followers were the same.

They held no alligance to Rome but their Lord Jesus alone.

Exodus 15:2,  Psalm 18:46,  27:1,  Romans 8:26-27,  Philippians 2:12,  3:3.

Girolamo Savonarola. Part-One.

Not many people have heard of this man, Girolamo Savonarola (Italy) he could be described as the third reformer in the age of Jan Huss (Bohemia) and John Wycliffe (England).

All three men remained Roman Catholic in their doctrine, but were expelled from the Roman Catholic Church, because they had called for serious reform.

This Italian Dominican monk in the city of Florence tried in vain to challenge the corrupt state of the pontificate reign of Pope Alexander-VI (4th).

Proverbs 21:6-8, Ecclesiastes 2:1-2.
