Remembering the Fallen?

Armistice and Bitterness!

Old wounds in Ireland take a long time to heal, we have come a long way with peace, but not so the Protestants and their loyalties to Britain!

Despite much hurt and betrayal Ireland has south to move on, but there remains much animosity in Republicans as much as in Loyalists? Despite seeing a common ground between the social classes there remains a division that may never really be healed!

Division is the continued layout of remembering in France and Belgium based on religious backgrounds!

But God wants believers not to be caught up in the idealism of national identity, but rather to remember those who went before us and to be thankful  to God for His redemptive work and promise of Salvation and Eternal Life!

Proverbs 4:22, 13:7,  Malachi 4:2,  Luke 12:51,  John 9:16,  Hebrews 9:11-12,  14,  12:1-2.

Papal Visit! One.

What is Expected?

Many people in Ireland are hoping that during this Papal visit the first since 1979, the new Pope will apologise for all the hurt and pain of what Nuns, monks and priests have done over the years in the various sexual scandals to have rocked the country?

But if one knows the Roman Catholic Church, one should know that everything moves very slowly and it is unlikely this Pope like any other will not have much to say!

People in Ireland have moved on into what is described as a modern society, but the reality for the many who believe the nation is now on the verge of paganism and hostile to the Christian faith?

Salvation only comes through faith in Jesus as the Son of God who died once for our failures, priest, man, pope cannot save us! Only by confession, repentance and faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus will we have the full assurance of Eternal Life!

Job 30:25,  Proverbs 23:29,   Jeremiah 8:6,   Malachi 3:14,   Mark 3:5,   Luke 5:32,  Romans 2:4.

Orangism! One.

The exclusive Brother/sisterhood?

The protestant orange order has caused more problems in Ireland than in any other part of the former British Empire, because of its provocative attitude?

The organisation was set up to protect protestant interests in business, property and political power and religious exclusiveness! Which it has held on to for nearly 250 years, but it is not enforced by legal mean but rather by the secret society of the Freemasons and popular tribal violence?

Nothing of this ”Christian order” is Christian and its a sham to protect settlers from Cornwall, Wales, England and Scotland. Some Orange people profess a faith in God, but when questioned they are bias to their own identity and refuse to the Gospel message to outsiders!

John 3:16,    Proverbs 6:19,    2 Corinthians 11:26,    Galatians 2:4.

Refugees. Two.

1845 to 2016.

Millions left Ireland, as they have many other lands to flee faminine and other economic disasters, but at the same time many have come to Ireland to find the hospitality of the Irish and feel let down?

We will always have refuugees of one kind or another, some will be dishonest while others true? This is the same for all humans, because of inherited sin, when we start to thinkl we are better than the rest then we have really misunderstood what God’s love, mery and forgiviness is all about?

Leviticus 25:35-38,  Psalm 37:25-26,  Proverbs 12:10,  Matthew 5;7,  Mark 11:25-26,  Luke 11:4,  John 5:42.

Patrick…

Born-Again Christian.

We know so much about this man mostly from the two books that he was able to write and have survived 1500 years to be re-printed many times. He tells us something of his life as a Roman Britain and his ignorance as a young man.

He tells us about his capture by Irish raiders and being sold into slavery, he goes on to tell us about the harshness of life before his conversion and after. An important area to mention in relation to the struggles of many believers today.

Patrick tells us about Celtic-Gael culture, his escape and his visions of needing to return to a people he would fall in love with. Patrick was indeed a great man, an even better believer, always emphasising the need of Salvation and personal repentance.

Patrick built five Christian centre and one missionary outreach centre, for those who would take the Gospel message to Cymru/Wales, Curnow/Cornwall, and Alba/Scotland.

Psalm 25:11,  John 3:15-17,  36,  Romans 11:5-6,  1 Corinthians 5:8-10,  Ephesians 2:7-8, 1 Timothy 1:15-16,  Hebrews 7:25,   1 John 5:11-12.

Ireland in Africa. Part-Three.

Africa in Ireland.

The black Church in the island of Ireland has been stunted, because of its desire to see a movement of Gods power. Catholocism is traditional, Protestantnism predominantly is racist in its evangelicalism.

If Patrick was with us today? He would be disgusted by the religious seperation and decline in morality and respect for Jesus claimed by many who have twisted everything to suite their own agendas.

Infact Ireland is no longer a Christian country, yet there are many believers who are struggling with the unbelivable responses from the state, the E.U. and Unionism who refuse to forgive and begrudge from historical prespective.

John 3:31-36,  1 Corinthians 15:8-10,  1 Timothy 1:15-16.

Ireland in Africa. Part-Two.

UN Troops.

The saddest deployment for ireland in Africa, was that of the Congo rebellion and the loss of soldiers. Wars are plenty on this very divided continent, over millenia this has been the case. Tribal, political and religious ideology, if not just gangs of criminals have plagued the peoples of many nations.

Many British colonial regiments had Irish detachments, particulary in the Boer wars in South-Africa 1899 and 1904. Irish Republican also fought with both the Boers and later the ANC, right up to the release of Nelso Mandela.

Many Christians have lost their lives in missionary work, which today is paying off with a rise and revivals after revivals across many of these distrubed lands.

God who chose Ethiopia, Cush, Libya, Sheba and Nubia is now at work all over and many lives are being changed for the better. One day black believers will be coming to Europe, Asia, Chian and the Americas to share the Gospel!
