Halloween. One.

A night for the Devil?

Based on north-European paganism, Halloween/All Hallows has become a time in the Christian calendar to remember that we believers have a daily adversary  who is out to get us at every cost, to take from us our assurance of trust in Jesus.

Satan, the Devil and His demonic host are as real, we see their handy work in the world everyday, terrorism, corruption, starvation, child abuse, intimidation, violence, gangs, criminal activity, murder, drugs and alcohol abuse?

But with Jesus we have the authority to rebuke the enemies attacks on us and he will flee, if we refuse to give into temptations!

Terrorism. Part-One.

‘War without Rules?

Ireland has had a history of armed conflict, since it was first invaded and occupied by the English and their Welsh mercenaries. Over those 800 years, it has seen many wars with Britain, ending in the 40 years of the troubles in N-Ireland.

But we must not think that there is a new terror now in Europe, that plays by its own rules. Evil people want to push their agenda, not for the liberation of one but many at the same time. In 1605 Guy Fawkes had the same idea, instead of using democratic means within his reach. He instead chose violence, that would of lead to the mass murder of many innocent people going about their daily business.

Fear and intimidation are the causes of many conflicts around the world in human history, when a certain group of people feel they have to right to tell others what to do. You have to do it our way and we will always be over you. ”Familiar Echos.”

Evil and Wickedness. Part-Three.

Bribery.

At the best of times this is not a good idea or place to be in and yet it is very much part of the ‘All Hallows/Halloween event. We traditionally know it as ‘Trick and Treat.’ You basically give us a gift or the mob will do something nasty to you.

Yes there is a kind of fun children’s game here, but there is also a serious lesson for us to learn that as adults it becomes an ever present reality.
