God with Us! Part-Two.

Prophecy fulfilled and the work of the Holy Spirit!

The birth of Jesus is the focus of what Christmas is really all about, how God became man in human flesh and how by the work of the Holy Spirit Mari remained a virgin to her husband Joseph!

It is a miracle like the many that we find in the Bible, but people today reject everything that is not rational to their understanding? They cannot believe God, making all sorts of excuses about Him in relation to suffering, starvation, natural disaster not being prevented?

But in this story of the events around Jesus we see the prophetic being fulfilled, the same is also in the work of our repentance and salvation! Being turned from being cold and callous to God to being open and understanding that we have a loving father in God almighty!

Isaiah 9:6-7,   Matthew 1:22-23,   Luke 1:1-45,   Hebrews 2:14-15,   Revelation 22:16.

Finding comfort in the Bible. Part-Three.

Knowing God.

The world claims that it wants to find peace, this is the solution to all of humanities problems? But the more it claims peace, the more it does war? We often hear people in the Middle-East and Africa say, ”That they are a peace loving people, and tomorrow they chop off the heads of their prisoners in the name of God?

When we come to know God, through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, we have been set free from legalism and idolatry into a New Life relationship! And now that we are in this New place, we understand by the Power of the Holy Ghost/Spirit within us that we have a peace and a hope that the world can never have because of their open rebellion and rejection of God!

John 14:27,  Isaiah 9:6,  Romans 15:13,  1 Corinthians 13:13,  Philippians 4:7.

Partakers. Two.

Who we Are!

We who claim faith in Jesus are no longer of the things of this world, yet we have to continue to live in the society that we are in!

The world must not influence us, because we are under the power of God’s Holy Spirit. We now should have no desires in our thinking, but the old nature will continue to tempt us to do a little here and there?

Many Christians attack or a Judgemental because we want to do what is right and to be do always trying to what is good, but this is what the bible teaches us to be like!

Romans 8:15-16,  2 Peter 3:14-17,  1 John 3:11.

Partakers. One.

Power and Service.

God has allowed us to join with Him in displaying His power and serving Him. This is not given to unbelievers, only those called through faith, forgiveness, repentance and His kindness or Mercy.

Theios from the Strong’s Greek G2304 Gives us the sense that God is Devine, Divinity.

We are allowed to share in His work of preaching, teaching and speaking the Gospel Good News of Jesus everyday. God in choosing us wants us to a people of valour maturity and living in the victory of the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus!

Hebrews 9:1,  2 Peter 1:3.

Paraclete.

The Holy Ghost/Spirit.

Only for belivers and not the world, Jesus promised his disciples would recieve power from on high to help them to preach the gospel message. From the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit has been poured out on all believers.

We need Him to help us when we are weak and afraid to serve, to share, to give testimony. He intercedes for us in these times of troubles, when we do not know what to say.

John 11:25, 1 4:26,  Acts 2:33,  2 Corinthians 12:10,  Ephesians 6:18,  Hebrews 7:25.

Which First? Part-One.

Keeping Traditions or Faith in Jesus?

We as humans like to keep traditions, they make us feel good and easy. They are safe, because we have got to know them so well and they were part of what our ancestors have done and kept.

Traditions are also found in the Christian community, going to Church, taking the Lords table, Christmas and Easter, reading from a certain version of the bible, prayerbook and singing certain types of songs.

Faith on the other hand is trusting in what is not seen and its about risk, knowing that God will help us and change our lives, when we believe. It is also about the work of the Holy Spirit in us daily.

Matthew 5:27, 38, John 3:15-21, Hebrews 11:1.

Holy Spirit Promised. Part-One.

Empowerment.

As believers without the Holy Spirit we could do nothing, we would not be saved. It is the Holy Spirit in this New disspensation that leads us to greater things, in the application of our faith.

In the past it was poured out on individuals to serve the will of God, Abraham, Moses, David and many more. But now all believers recieve a share of Him, the Spirirt of God.

Acts 1:8,  2:4,  Romans 15:19.

Walking with the Holy Spirit. Part-One.

Living and Walking.

When we were once part of the world, we lived as the world did. We did not know or recognise God, as we do now.

So now that we do know God, as our Father and Jesus as our friend and Saviour we do not need to continue on as we once did.

We tend to forget that we too can walk with the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity.

Romans 8:4-5,  Galations 5:15-16,  1 Peter 1:22,   Jude 1:19-21.

Blinkers. Part-One.

A Limited Vision.

This post is not about horse racing, which I am sure will be a disappointment  to some? No this is about ‘Christian Revival in Ireland, which many ‘Christians do not believe has occurred since 1859.

This is because they have allowed themselves to become blinkered to the movement of God around them. There where Revivals in Ireland in 1928 and 1994, but very few established Christians saw this and reacted to it.

The reasons for this lack of belief, sadly is the bigotry that plagues Ireland as a nation and peoples. Sectarianism, seclusion and hatred has stopped the power of God. This does not mean that people are not getting saved, it is just not recognized as a move of the Holy Spirit.  Act 1:8, 1 Corinthians 3:16, Jude 19.

God is moving in Africa. Part-Two.

Africa in the Bible.

The bible has much to say about Africa and its lands, peoples and kingdoms. From the beginning Africa existed and was a key player after the Noahic flood. Africa has been connected with the kings of Israel and despite its current problems Christianity is growing.

During the pouring out of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem 2000 years ago, Africa was mentioned. God blesses peoples for theirr faith in Him and their stance to keep His truths.

Genesis 2:13,  Psalm 72:10,  Ezekiel 30:5,  38:5,  Nahum 4:9,  Mark 15:21,  Act 2:10,  6:9.
