‘Our Father?

God our Father!

All of have had fathers, some good, some not so? Some died, while others ran away to avoid responsibility, while still others were part of the mixture of human relations and sin outside wedlock?

In this world what ever set up or relationship we have with or are a father it is up to us to make the best for our children and do what is right and best? But when we know the Lord Jesus as our personal saviour, we come into personal relationship with both God and His one and only son Jesus!

Knowing God as our Fathers, opens us to know that he cares, loves and always wants the best for us!

Workers Rights?

1st May.

Exploitation continues, despite the abolition of black slavery? The end of colonial slavery was replaced by the Industrial revolution and the need for mass cheap labour! Many children were forced down the mines and into the mill machine cleaning, people were forced to live in back to back housing and vile conditions!

The 19th Century say the rise of Socialist idealism and the workers Utopia of rights and farer conditions, sometimes coming at great coast? Capitalism was the driving forces of big business, apart from some Christian efforts to appease their workers, there was little care for the workers and their families?

Today many people are working for little or nothing and this is not right, if we claim to know Jesus then we should show, care, concern and love for the less fortunate?

Genesis 31:7-8,   Luke 10:34,   John 4:36,   Romans 3:23,   6:23.

Saint Valentines Day.

14th February.

Lots of people are now in a mad rush to get their card in the post and/ or to prepare that special surprise? But what is lacking, is the fact that St Valentine is not one person but several all noted for doing their good deeds and not expecting anything in return. Luke 6:30-36. In fact that is how God wants us to do our good works, in secret and not seen by others. Some do what to be credited. Mathew 6:1-4.

But the day or evening is celebrated as one of romance and marriage, but it has become a tradition and like getting married. Many do it for the show, rather than for the commitment, and that is perhaps why so many fail when the storms come.

Marriage between a man and a woman was ordained by God. Genesis 2:18, 2:23-24. And we are warned that God does not like adultery to defile the marriage bed. Mark 10:6-9, Hebrews 13:4.

LOVE. 1.

Love is Kind!

The New Testament of the Holy bible tells us that Love is kind, it is not selfish and it always seeks the best! This is the attribute that Jesus asks of us who believe and follow Him?

The worlds idea of love is from a selfish motive, even when it appears to be good? Its all about I will give, but I want something in return for my efforts?

God’s love to the world, through Jesus is not demanding, but rather unconditional!

Deuteronomy 11:22,  John 3:14-18,  31-36,   1 Corinthians 13:4,  Galatians 5:22.

Holocaust Memorial. One.

January 27th.

This is the European Union day to mark the Nazi-German Holocaust in which some six million Jewish people were systematically slaughtered in the Nazi-German ‘Final Solution plan.’ There are many historians today, who continue to want to revise history in connection with this subject?

Denial is a big issue with Anti-Semitism and anti-Israel feeling, which is claimed to be in defence of the Palestinian peoples and their rights to a land that the Holy Bible says is not there’s. We cannot get away from the facts of the Bible in relation to the land of Israel and its restoration to the Jewish race!

Exodus 3:7, 10,  Esther 9:24,  Matthew 2:6,  Acts 7:34.

Conduct. One.

Not what we once Were!

When we have come to know Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, there has to be a change in our mental attitudes? We are no longer the person we were, but now are more centred on God and following our Lord!

The Apostle Paul speaks to the early Churches about the need to keep their conduct pure or clean in Christ, we must not look back and act the way we were? Sadly today there are many who encompass themselves in Church activity and in the process loose sight of Jesus and what is expected of us by Jesus?

Colossians 3:1-25,  Romans 12:1-2,  Hebrews 10:26-29,  32-38.

Happy New Year?

Hope.

We all want to start off this New Year with hope for many things, family, education, work, friends, parents? There is nothing wrong with having hope like that, even in business and in religious affaires?

But it is even better to have hope in God-Jesus to know where we are with Him in relation to Eternity and our Salvation! To be free from legalistic religion and ritualism based on traditions, which have nothing to do with the Bible?

1 Thessalonian 1:9-10,  Job 35:10-12,  Romans 8:24-25.
