Love and Forgiveness!

A lack of Today?

Next week millions will be spent on enjoying love, wither in marriage or outside it?

Marriage will breakdown, because of selfishness and the lack of the ability to forgive! Those vows of promises earlier will be lost in the failure to recognise it takes work to put things right!

God will not change, He does not want those who believe in Him to be lacking in anything, especially forgiving and loving others!

Isaiah 59:15,   John 3:16,   1 Corinthians 13:13,   Hebrews 13:14,   James 1:4,   Revelation 3:19.

Reconciliation. One.

Forgive and Forget.

Bitterness is a terrible condition to be in, when one is claiming to have a faith in God? Like racism and sectarianism, they block the power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives! Jesus was rejected first by His own people, but He has not given up on humans with all our flaws?

Jesus went to the cross/stake/tree for our sins, making that final atonement and rising from the dead so that we may have a New Life and overcome the sting of natural death!

Calvinism in some respects justifies sins, while in others it gives a belief that once saved will get us into heaven? But the bible is more complex and we need to understand it from the context that it was written in?

Luke 23:34,   Romans 5:10,   Matthew 5:23-26,   Colossians 1:20-22,   Hebrews 2:17.

Refugees. Two.

1845 to 2016.

Millions left Ireland, as they have many other lands to flee faminine and other economic disasters, but at the same time many have come to Ireland to find the hospitality of the Irish and feel let down?

We will always have refuugees of one kind or another, some will be dishonest while others true? This is the same for all humans, because of inherited sin, when we start to thinkl we are better than the rest then we have really misunderstood what God’s love, mery and forgiviness is all about?

Leviticus 25:35-38,  Psalm 37:25-26,  Proverbs 12:10,  Matthew 5;7,  Mark 11:25-26,  Luke 11:4,  John 5:42.

Finding comfort in the Bible. One.

The Psalms.

For centuries now believers have turned to the book of the Psalms in their times of need to find solace and comfort? Many ask where should I look, there are many relevant psalms such as 23 and 91.

But there is also Psalm 119, which in connection with Psalm one could be a devotional in its own right! When life gets rough and people wear us down Psalm 37 can for some be very handy.

When deppresed or under the weather Psalm 40 may also help us? In fact spending the first 31 days reading those respective Psalms gives a good taste of what is to come?

History of Conflicts. One.

Wars, Terrorism, Gangterism.

Africa, Europe and Ireland have all seen their fare share of these problems over the last two hundred years. Some will blame Imperialism, occupation, while others say it was a few trouble makers that started these problems?

Some will blame it on religious difference, sectarianism and criminal activity and all of these may have a semblence of truth in their own right?

The problems start when we refuse to let go, over time and put our faith we claim to have into practice. One may say I am religious, another I do good deeds, I’m Born-again or Evangelical?

But if we do not do what Jesus commands us to do, to love, to forgive, to be friendly, hospitable? Then what kind of faith do we have that is so cold to keep refusing, to reject, to hurt and hate.

Well its not the Chrtianity of the Holy Bible!

Psalm 94:1,  119:169,  Matthew 5:22,  Luke 23:34,  Romans 12:19.

Ireland in Africa. Part-Three.

Africa in Ireland.

The black Church in the island of Ireland has been stunted, because of its desire to see a movement of Gods power. Catholocism is traditional, Protestantnism predominantly is racist in its evangelicalism.

If Patrick was with us today? He would be disgusted by the religious seperation and decline in morality and respect for Jesus claimed by many who have twisted everything to suite their own agendas.

Infact Ireland is no longer a Christian country, yet there are many believers who are struggling with the unbelivable responses from the state, the E.U. and Unionism who refuse to forgive and begrudge from historical prespective.

John 3:31-36,  1 Corinthians 15:8-10,  1 Timothy 1:15-16.

Forty Days. Part-Two.

Peter Restored.

Peter allow us to see how mercyful Jesus is to believers who keep failing and Peter was to fall again over dietry hypocrasy pointed out to him by the Apostle Paul. Peter fell into this sin, even though he had the vision of the sheet coming down and going up to Heaven.

This really shows us how fickle we all are to having the blessings and still loosing it at some point to some weakness that just keeps coming up again and again.

John 21:15-25,  Acts 10:13,  11:7.
