Economic collapse & oil Glut?

The world is in a bad way!

But we should be praising God and giving thanks for these circumstances, which is providing many with staying in, family and loved one? It is of course not easy for everyone, noisy neighbours irritating family, depression and many other issues of small spaces?

But if we claim a faith in Jesus we have been set free to worship, to sing, give thanks, pray and study the Bible along with many other things in relation to sharing our faith perhaps more in actions than in words!

Romans 12:12,  15,  Ephesians 1:6,  12,  14,  Philippians 1:18,  4:4,  Hebrews 2:12,  13:15,   James 5:13,   1 Peter 1:6.

God so Loved…! Two.

Old Story, New Message?

Easter is an old story that the world fails to want to understand and yet it will be told again, today with new technology and many people around the world will be saved from their past failures and allowed to enter in to the New Life of a personal relationship with Jesus and our Father!

Easter is about atonement for sins, once and for all time, the giving of the promised New Life and the need for many to find faith in these dire times!  Exodus 10:17,

We as believers have a great responsibility to share with the dying Jesus, with our loved one, friends and even enemies that, For God so Loved the world, that He gave to us His one and only Son!  John 3:14-18.

Psalm 119:4,   Amos 5:4,   Luke 15:7,   John 3:3,   14:1-6,   Acts 3:19,   Romans 6:22-23.

The Value of Christmas? One.

In todays Society!

The world has changed, but humanity has not in relation to attitude and failure and God does not change in His love and other roles!

Christmas is a time of celebration, festivals and family, but it is equally a time of loneliness, regret, rejection and bad thoughts?

God gave to the world His one and only Son Jesus, that by faith we would find a hope and a salvation through his suffering, death and resurrection for us on the cross!

It is up to us to make these essential choices that mark out our eternal destinies?

Numbers 24:17,   Isaiah 7:14,   9:7,   Matthew 2:2-11,   Luke 2:7-20,   John 3:3-7,  14-17.

Families! One.

Natural and Spiritual?

There are two kinds of families, natural ones that we all come from or belong to and Spiritual ones that we have entered through repentance, confession and being Born-Again by the Holy-Spirit!

In the natural order we belong to parents, or we have been adopted and other cases orphans with many issues to carry through our lives? Families are full of rows and also strife, mixed in with the good times too?

But the Spiritual family is different, in that we belong to Ekklesia, the family of God that is universal! It should have no borders and we should all be helping each other? But the reality is far from this truth, believers are divided by false teachings and a lack of reading the Bible?

Acts 2:42-47,  1 Corinthians 3:4-7,   2 Peter 2:9.

I Patrick a Sinner! One.

Many claims on Him?

We now know that there were several Patricks sent to Ireland to convert the pagans to Christianity, but this Patrick was different in that he did come on a mission but rather as he says a slave!

Today the many traditions each place their own claim on him in relation to nationality, but it was Patrick who said later in life, ‘We Irish!

Patrick was a British-Romano Christian and his times have nothing to do with the Britain that has been existence this last thousand years! His family perhaps felt no need to return to Italy and stayed on working their lands, but Celtic pirate raids started to become more and more widespread and eventually Patrick was captured!

He tells from his writings that he was a rebel and most youth are to their parents? But he had some faith and this came to play in his mind and heart, when faced with the west and cold conditions he was expected to work in!

His whole life from these two sets of writings reveal and ordinary man, struggling to cope with the conditions around him like so many of us today!

2 Corinthians 4:1-5,  5:1-2,  1 John 4:10-11,  19.

Happy New Year?

Hope.

We all want to start off this New Year with hope for many things, family, education, work, friends, parents? There is nothing wrong with having hope like that, even in business and in religious affaires?

But it is even better to have hope in God-Jesus to know where we are with Him in relation to Eternity and our Salvation! To be free from legalistic religion and ritualism based on traditions, which have nothing to do with the Bible?

1 Thessalonian 1:9-10,  Job 35:10-12,  Romans 8:24-25.

Mad dog in the Sunshine.

Summer.

A time of joy and madness of doing stilly things, taking cahnces and risk that will lead one to many sad disaters. Looking at the girls or looking at the boys may lead to sex and babies, aborted or hidden.

Most families today around the world, near and far have their black sheep, stories made to cover up really sordid situations or rape, incest etc.

Jesus told the people of His day that even looking at a woman will lead to adultery? This is very strong language and a warning, because in His own earthly line we have King David and Bathsheeba, Solomon and his many wives, and quite a few more dirty men.

Matthew 5:28,  2 Samuel 11:1-4,  Genesis 20:3,  Hebrews 13:4,  Revelation 21:8.

Revenge. Part-One.

Human Nature.

When we are angered, when we see people, family, friends the natural kicks in and we want to take revenge. The world is full of terror and murder, revenge in Mexico, Italy by gangsters. The Middle-East and Africa by terrorists and what is termed militants.

Being a believer in Jesus we are warned this is not for us, God will avenge for us and he will do a better job at it. If we do slip we will open ourselves up to problems, problems that will not leave us alone.

Proverbs 17:13,  Psalm 35:12,  Proverbs 13:21,  Hebrews 10:30.

EASTER. Part-Three.

Jesus Family.

The family of Jesus were around Him at the cross and the resurrection, along with followers, new believers and the witnesses of the resurrection.

Mary His earthly mother and many female followers were near and far at the stake/tree, while on that Easter Sunday moring they were all rushing to find the empy tomb.

Matthew 27:55-56, 61, 28:3-6,  Mark 15:40, 47, 16:1-9,   Luke 24:1-10,  John 19:25, 20:1-11, 16, 18.

Doing a Good Turn.

An Example.

Would yo put yourself out for another person, a neighbour, a friend, a stranger, your family? In some of these cases you probably would, unless you are to mean.

Jesus left us an example of washing feet, for us to continue. There have been many takes on it since, by various ‘Churches. Some modern adaptions are the polishing of shoes, but I like the original one.

It is a hard place to take off the shoes of your friend, even harder their socks or stockings. Feet can be really smelly, sweaty and may have bunnions and other nasty sores. Then you have to wash them! Jesus did it as a gesture to His Disciples, because they had travelled three years with Him and now He was leaving them fir the Cross/stake.

John 13:3-14.
