LOVE?

Saint Valentine!

Its that time of the year again when couples express their love to each other with cards, roses and the special romantic meal, but this may be a kind of love that the world has made a tradition but it is not real love?

Real love is to care and cherish, without expecting any return or even a thank you!

The bible tells us that God loved us first, not that we loved Him! His love was enough to send to us His one and only son, to die on the cross/stake/tree and rise from the dead saving all who would believe from their sins!

The application of love will cost us, rejection, opposition, but if we keep focused on Jesus we will continue to have the right attitude and will not be troubled by disappointment, but rejoice in the good fruit that it will produce?

Genesis 29:20,  Exodus 20:6, Psalm 5:11,  31:23,  70:4,  97:10,  Proverbs 10:12,  Matthew 5:43-46,  John 3:3, 15-21,  Ephesians 5:2,  1 John 4:10-11.

International Terrorism.

Religious Mania.

The British will mark Guy Fawkes night tomorrow with fire works and bonfires, but how many people know who and what Guy Fawkes the centre of this tradition was all about?

Today everyone in Europe has to be politically correct and yet there remains the stigma towards, black people, travellers and the Jews?

The world faces a new religious fanatical deluded enemy lead by some very clever people, who one day perhaps might deck the halls of the United Nations at the cost of many innocent woman and children killed by their suicide soldiers in markets, schools and many other soft targets.

God will never allow evil to overcome good, that is why he sent His son Jesus to us so that we by trusting in Him could be forgiven. loved and set free from the blindness and wickedness of this dark world!

LOVE. Part-One.

Loving Others.

It is so easy to say, ‘I love you, yet it is very hard to put love into practise. The world has ‘Luu’ve and most of it is connected with sexual lust and flimsy comments, sometimes it is linked with humanitarian issues but generally it has little meaning or effect.

Jesus asked the rich young man to do some things, which would help him to enter the kingdom. He had done the first two, but now he had to put into practice Love and that would cost him.

Mark 12:30-34,   Exodus 20:2-3,   17,    Leviticus 19:13.

Wealth. Part-One.

Responsibility.

Many people today are rich and so are many Christians, but it is we who need to be responsible with how we use our wealth. Many Christians are into the prosperity gospel and with it believe they can bi-pass the poor and the weak around them.

Many people want to enjoy life and have it in this world, but they perhaps should read the bible in relation to the many accounts that Jesus told us about those kinds of people!

Job 22:6-9,  Luke 12:17-21,  16:19-31.

Paying the Price.

Stephen.

Stephen is the first Christian martyr of the New Tesatament and is an example to all of us, that sometimes we may end up in a sticky situation. The men who murdered Stephen hated him, because they could not prove him wrong and at the same time they were refusing to believe the truth.

Today the world is full of wicked, evil and selfish people, who just want to take what is not theirs, want to lie and steal, refuse to work, make excuses. We need to be careful in what we say and not to over do it.

Psalm 44:22,  Acts 6:11-15,  7:54-60,  22:20,  Revelation 12:11.

Easter. Part-One.

The Last Supper.

Jesus met with his disciples in the upper room to celebrate the Jewish Passover (Pesach), to remember God’s deliverance of His people from Egyptian slavery. Exodus Chapters 12-15.

It was at the table that Jesus revealed who was going to betray him, Judas Iscariot, but he also warned Peter that he would deny him and all of them would desert him soon. Matthew 26:14-30, Mark 14:10-31,  Luke22:3-34, John 13:21-30, 36-38.

We may like to boast in what we have, who we are and what we can do, but to be a real believer in Jesus will cost you. We are expected to take up our cross daily and follow. We are also asked to share in His struggles too. Are you up to it?  Luke 9:23-25. Romans 6:16.
