Families! Two.

Sense of Belonging?

The world is a hard place, especially when families go all wrong and love is conditional?

Many people today claim that they were not loved by their parents and yet forty to fifty years ago, working conditions and time off for child care was both hard and not available?

Loneliness is another factor in our society, even for married couples when they get older?

What is the remedy to these situations, faith in God and knowing the Lord allows us un-limited access into the Church! But still many Christians to have the same problems as the world, but this should not be?

Genesis 22:8,    John 1:29,   Mark 15:41,   1 Timothy 3:5,   5:3,   Jude 1:12.

LOVE?

Saint Valentine!

Its that time of the year again when couples express their love to each other with cards, roses and the special romantic meal, but this may be a kind of love that the world has made a tradition but it is not real love?

Real love is to care and cherish, without expecting any return or even a thank you!

The bible tells us that God loved us first, not that we loved Him! His love was enough to send to us His one and only son, to die on the cross/stake/tree and rise from the dead saving all who would believe from their sins!

The application of love will cost us, rejection, opposition, but if we keep focused on Jesus we will continue to have the right attitude and will not be troubled by disappointment, but rejoice in the good fruit that it will produce?

Genesis 29:20,  Exodus 20:6, Psalm 5:11,  31:23,  70:4,  97:10,  Proverbs 10:12,  Matthew 5:43-46,  John 3:3, 15-21,  Ephesians 5:2,  1 John 4:10-11.

Real Equality. Part-Two.

Eagerness.

There is something missing today in the Church in relation to giving to fellow believers, away in far off lands? Collections contain foreign coinage and copper and it is the rich who limit themselves, while others don’t really care.

It proves that Ekklesia is now very much in the world, in its attitude!

The Apostle Paul was shocked how the Gentiles where going out of their was to finance the poverty of the Jews in Jerusalem.

Politics and misunderstandings from racism and Anti-Semitism have choked Christians from understanding their place in relation to Biblical truth, taking the emphasis off their responsibility!

Acts 24:17,  Romans 15:25-26,  2 Corinthians 8:9.

2016 ‘Another Year.’

‘Happy New Year.’

We all want to see and are expecting somethings to be better this year, better in many ways than the last and this is natural for all of us!

But we also know that despite the many good things that will come our way, there are also many bad because that is how the world and our life cycle works.

It is easy to write these words and to make many written statements, but when one has lived life and faced the everyday sadness in reflection one knows many things.

Perhaps this year will be the one that reflects on ones own standing in relation to all around us and sees the need of Jesus as a friend, helper and the Lord of our New Life in Him?

Matthew 11:28-30,   Luke 11:9-13,  1 Peter 3:8.

Loved. Part-Two.

Show, not just Saying.

The world today has made the word love so cheap and easy to say, with very little meaning to it anymore? It has become all about self, what ‘I want, Me, love this and that and so on.

But we as believers by faith in God must try to be concerned and show care first for our own brothers and sisters, rather than make excuses.

Ruth 2:10,  18,  Psalm 34:14,   Acts 11:23,   Romans 12:9-10.

This is something to be considered on the eve of Saint Valentines day, tomorrow!

He has Arisen. Part-One.

Leadership.

On the third day, as he had promised Jesus arose from the dead. He had conqured death and this is how we who have faith are set free from the curse that death is.

Matthew 17:22, Mark 9:30-31, Luke 24:6-7.

We tend to sometimes overlook the account of Peter thinking that this was just his restoration to be forgiven and continue in following, but this has more to do with leadership qualities.

Being a Christian, means that we may be asked to take on some responsibility in our fellowship, from making the tea, to teaching in the Sunday school, youth work or just visiting the older folks.

John 21:15-17.

‘Christmas is a Coming. Part-Four.

Remember and Act.

In the made rush up to the big day we tend to forget that not everyone, even around where we live is looking forward. Other religions we know do not believe, but their are many who hurt for various reasons and this season may be the last straw for them.

It is easy to remember the past and sufferings in other lands, but homelessness and poverty is all around us. We need to stop look and help, even a mince pie, a card and a hello to a neighbor may be enough to save them this Christmas.

Psalm 26:3,    71:19,   Matthew 6:2-4,   Luke 6:24,   Acts 20:24,  24:2,    Hebrews 8:12,

1 Peter 3:8, 2 Peter 1:7.
