Remembering the Fallen?

Armistice and Bitterness!

Old wounds in Ireland take a long time to heal, we have come a long way with peace, but not so the Protestants and their loyalties to Britain!

Despite much hurt and betrayal Ireland has south to move on, but there remains much animosity in Republicans as much as in Loyalists? Despite seeing a common ground between the social classes there remains a division that may never really be healed!

Division is the continued layout of remembering in France and Belgium based on religious backgrounds!

But God wants believers not to be caught up in the idealism of national identity, but rather to remember those who went before us and to be thankful  to God for His redemptive work and promise of Salvation and Eternal Life!

Proverbs 4:22, 13:7,  Malachi 4:2,  Luke 12:51,  John 9:16,  Hebrews 9:11-12,  14,  12:1-2.

Reconciliation. One.

Forgive and Forget.

Bitterness is a terrible condition to be in, when one is claiming to have a faith in God? Like racism and sectarianism, they block the power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives! Jesus was rejected first by His own people, but He has not given up on humans with all our flaws?

Jesus went to the cross/stake/tree for our sins, making that final atonement and rising from the dead so that we may have a New Life and overcome the sting of natural death!

Calvinism in some respects justifies sins, while in others it gives a belief that once saved will get us into heaven? But the bible is more complex and we need to understand it from the context that it was written in?

Luke 23:34,   Romans 5:10,   Matthew 5:23-26,   Colossians 1:20-22,   Hebrews 2:17.
