Fruit and Fire!

Only for Born-Again Believers?

When we are saved, knowing that God has forgiven our past sins, because we believed that Jesus died on the cross and rose again on the third day making that one and final atonement for sins, we will have received the Holy Spirit as both a guarantee and seal of our Salvation!

The Holy Spirit is that flame or fire of passion that burns within us, wanting to share the Good News message with the world around us, friends and family! He gives us a passion and compassion for others, while also the gifts become available for us to develop in Love!

But last of all we are given the free choices to go with God’s flow or to refuse to do so and so we must face the consequences of these choices at the End of the Age?

Free Derry?

Republican Activism!

Its been twenty years since peace was declared by the IRA with good intentions, but not in Londonderry it seems that a hotel bar wanting to view the British Royal wedding on Saturday 19th May and other venues in County Donegal in the Republic have been warned that this is not acceptable!

Who said it that, The IRA have not gone away’? Unionism will play it for all its worth, but on the same hand still discriminate against the Catholic population?  What can one do but condemn those who are acting in the name of their own political interests and this has been brought on by the DUP’s political failure to cause a vacuum in nationalism!

A selfish Society! One.

Sincerity and Morals?

It would seem as one gets older the world is changing to be a less better place, and yet one remembers my mum and dad saying the same things in their latter years too!

The Holy Bible does warn us that in the last days the love of many will grow cold, now that is expected of the world but not of fellow believers?

Sadly this is a fact that needs to be addressed in the Ekklesia, because if we claim to know God and have not love for others then their is something seriously wrong!

Crossroads. Two.

Living in the power of the Resurrection?

There are some people who believe or claim a faith in Jesus, but they fail to fathom the rising of Jesus the man from the grave?

This a serious flaw in the Christian faith, like that of denying that a loving God would send people to Hell! But without faith in the resurrection of Jesus, we cannot enter into the promised New Life!

All who witnessed Jesus rising from the dead where changed people, their faith was made full and they were empowered to press on believing, applying Jesus teaching and serving God!

Crossroads. One.

Easter the pivot of human History!

Jesus came to die for our sins on the Cross/stake/tree, this was His choice and ultimate calling for us to be saved! He was the sinless perfect man, the Messiah of Israel wither accepted or not and the saviour of the world!

Without the shedding of His blood in that one final atonement, there can be no remission of sins! Jesus did this for all who would by faith believe in Him, confessing and repenting of our sins.

There is no other way to be born-again, to be saved from the destiny of destruction that the world in its own achievement is heading for!

I Patrick a Sinner! One.

Many claims on Him?

We now know that there were several Patricks sent to Ireland to convert the pagans to Christianity, but this Patrick was different in that he did come on a mission but rather as he says a slave!

Today the many traditions each place their own claim on him in relation to nationality, but it was Patrick who said later in life, ‘We Irish!

Patrick was a British-Romano Christian and his times have nothing to do with the Britain that has been existence this last thousand years! His family perhaps felt no need to return to Italy and stayed on working their lands, but Celtic pirate raids started to become more and more widespread and eventually Patrick was captured!

He tells from his writings that he was a rebel and most youth are to their parents? But he had some faith and this came to play in his mind and heart, when faced with the west and cold conditions he was expected to work in!

His whole life from these two sets of writings reveal and ordinary man, struggling to cope with the conditions around him like so many of us today!

2 Corinthians 4:1-5,  5:1-2,  1 John 4:10-11,  19.
