God so Loved…! One.

EASTER is On?

Despite the terrible way the world is in at the moment, with the emphasis taken off Islamic battles and sectarian killings, humanity has poisoned itself once more in a pandemic disease situation!

But apart from the need to self-isolate and to keep the quarantine in place, we must thank God for technology and the Internet that is keeping us seeing each other over the thousands of miles?

Easter is on, because we can share, sing and praise God through various platforms such as Skype and You Tube! We can hear the word and share our lives with loved ones and make this Easter intimate and special and try to reflect of what was achieved for us by Jesus on the cross and His rising from the dead?

Nehemiah 1:11,  Psalm 55:1,   86:1,   Jeremiah 36:7,   Mark 11:24,  John 3:3,   7-9,   14-17,   Acts 4:12,   Romans 3:21-31,   James 5:16.

LOVE?

Agape and Eros!

The world thinks it has plenty of love today, everyone is loving each other and yet there is murder, stabbings and terrorism as never seen before, without real reasons rather than being indiscriminate?

The world loves the sinful side of love that clashes with the true love of God, because the world refuses to obey, but would rather go its own way?

We have something that is truly amazing and yet we fail much of the time to share it even in fellowship, let alone with the world around us!

Psalm 103:8,   John 3:16-17,  1 Corinthians 13:4,  1 John 1:9-10,   Jude 1:21.

The Philippines?

Islands of disasters and Troubles!

The history of this island archipelago is that of sadness from conflicts to natural disasters, from dictatorships to epidemics and President Duterte?

The people are perhaps some of the most resilient on the planet or so it would seem, but one is sure that the pains of loss never really go away and suffering probably continues in silence?

The islands are plighted with on going terrorism in the southern islands of Mindanao and Jolo and the threat to Manilla is always there despite U.S. troops being in the country! The war on the drug cartels continue, despite some injustices but before Mr. Duterte came to office the situation was way out of hand and effected nearly every family?

Religious faith in great in this nation, it keeps many going! But to know the Lord as your personal Saviour is even more important to encourage believers to push and press on with education and science to improve their nation with innovation?

Meanwhile the Philippines needs our prayers also, especially when it is out of the media headlines!

Deuteronomy 1:38,   1 Samuel 23:16,   Psalm 119:28,   Isaiah 40:1,  Romans 1:12,   15:4,  Colossians 2:2,   1 Thessalonians 5:11,   1 Timothy 5:1,   Hebrews 3:13,   2 Peter 3:1.

Arrogance?

Another year of banging the Drums!

Arrogance is a terrible sin and we can all be accused of practicing it, but when it becomes something of a historical excuse and a trap to change as it has with N-Ireland and Orangeism in light of the sad death of a young woman trying to make a career in journalism and political parties refusing to meet out of past bitterness we are in a serious situation!

This is a problem world-wide, but great opportunities are being missed to press on with the peace, now that Brexit has become more of a threat than it seems over the reestablishment of the border that no one wants, and London does not care about neither the U.S. President Trump who makes it up as he goes along?

1 Samuel 15:23,   Job 35:12,   Psalm 75:5,   94:4,   Mark 7:22,   2 Corinthians 12:20,   1 John 2:16.

Precious and Invaluable!

What we have been Given?

This a great time of the year to reflect on what God has done for us, between the Easter resurrection, the Ascension of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit to those first believers gathered in Jerusalem for Pentecost!

We must consider that faith we have to believe the invisible and the impossible has been imparted to us through the ‘Good Works of Jesus and that we also have our belief which is invaluable more than anything this world can give to us.

Jesus said it to Satan during His time of temptation in the wilderness by Satan and this was written for us to in the society that we live in and face today. We must hold on and maintain what we have, while also sharing the love of Jesus that is in our hearts will all and those less fortunate in the world?

Matthew 4:1-1,  13:46,   1 Corinthians 3:15,   James 5:7,   1 Peter 1:7,  19,   2 Peter 1:1,  4.

Anti-Semitism!

The problems with Racism?

No human alive today on this planet can say that they are not without hating a race, colour, creed or religion, we are all guilty of this sin!

We like our own space and culture, we like to be with our own people and sometimes we do not want to mix with the other side?

Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, sectarianism and a plethora of many more names sums up this kind of hatred and jealousy of each other including racism!

God told us that He gave His one and only Son Jesus, because He loved the world, meaning all races, skin colours! But it is the sin in our own hearts that blocks us off from either coming to the truth of the New Life or holding on to that promised Eternity!

Ecclesiastes 7:7,    Jeremiah 2:14,   29-11-13,    John 3:3,   15-18,   Romans 3:22-23,   6:22-23.

‘I Have a Dream!

Martin Luther King and Bloody Sunday?

It is ironic that the words of this North-American civil rights preacher would lead to the rights of Catholics in Ireland and the eventual tragedy of ‘Bloody Sunday?

Martin Luther Kings words still and will continue to have impact around the world until the Lords return, for every oppressed peoples and cultures! Crossing racial, colour and cultural backgrounds and inspiring much needed freedom in this world!

Much can be said about his failings, well the Holy Bible tells us that we are all sinners! So stop pointing fingers in your self proclaimed righteousness and try Jesus today, while also seeking to help all who are oppressed in society and culture!

Joel 2:28,   Acts 2:17,   Leviticus 6:2,   Judges 4:3,   Psalm 9:9,   72:13,  103:13,   Matthew 18:27,   Luke 4:18,   Acts 10:38,  Hebrews 11:37.
