Stephen..

Speaking the Truth.  Acts 6:5-8:3.

Stephen was the first Christian Martyr of the Ekklesia, he died like his Lord Jesus on trumped up aligations. But he was not murderd because he had faith, but rather because he told the people hearing and questioning him a truth that they could not bear to hear.

Today many people go the Church, Mass for many other reasons that actually have to do with Jesus. We find that we can end up keeping dates and celebrating festivals through the year, without knowing why we are doing so. This is the dangers of becoming religious and keeping traditions.

Christianity and the New Life are dynamic events, that are supposed to continue in us and be seen by others. Loving those who hate us, not reacting to provocation, forgiving those who persecute us and may even kill us.

Psalm 26:3,  71:19,   Acts 20:24,  Hebrews 8:12,  1 Peter 3:8,  2 Peter 1:7.

Stonehenge and Newgrange.

Solstice.

The midwinter festival has began many people will brave the elements to try to meet at these two famous sites, but there are also many more across Europe as well as these islands. People have always sought out a higher power and many mouments have been constructed around the world to show this connection with the stars, moon and sun.

But today the world has many ism’s of beliefe and unbellfe, there is really only one religion in the world which gives us any hope for this life and eternity and that is Christianity. All relgions expect something, they have big and little heads, which are either gods of the teachings of men/a man.

1 Corinthians 15,  Ephesians 2:12-16, 1 Timothy 1 :15-16.

Happy Christmass to all of you who read this blog. Many Thanks.

‘Christmas is a Coming. Part-Four.

Remember and Act.

In the made rush up to the big day we tend to forget that not everyone, even around where we live is looking forward. Other religions we know do not believe, but their are many who hurt for various reasons and this season may be the last straw for them.

It is easy to remember the past and sufferings in other lands, but homelessness and poverty is all around us. We need to stop look and help, even a mince pie, a card and a hello to a neighbor may be enough to save them this Christmas.

Psalm 26:3,    71:19,   Matthew 6:2-4,   Luke 6:24,   Acts 20:24,  24:2,    Hebrews 8:12,

1 Peter 3:8, 2 Peter 1:7.

‘Christmas is coming. Part-Three.

A time to share.

Many people over this season will give up and comit suicide, others will block it out because of rejection and loneliness. Some don’t believe in it anyway. But what is our response to it?  Psalm 10:2,  59:12,  Luke 10:34-35.

God allowed His son Jesus to be born in a stable, becuase despite being a King he was to serve us in His humility. Poverty for a start, is to show us do we really care about others and can we be generous and forgive failings. Mark 7:22,  Luke 2:8-20.

It is pride that closes our hearts at this time of the year, but we should know that this is never Gods way.  Mark 11:25-26,  1 John 1:9.
