Myth’s and Fables. Part-One.

In all cultures and societies throughout human history man has had Myths and Fables passed down, with Legends from generation to generation and we know that these stories are partially lies. Because they have been added to over time to make them a bit more juicy.

The origin of the word Myth comes from the Greek Muthos and it has two meanings. One to teach and instruct and two, a secret.

We do like to hear a good story, even within gossip. But if that story is true, we probably ignore it or forget it. But if it has been spiced up a bit, we are sure to remember it?

People are like that with religion, they think I’m okay and so they build ideas and doctrines of their own around these beliefs. Meanwhile they ignore and excuse all the challenges of God’s commandments. Romans 1: 20-25, 2 Peter 1:16.

The Fear of God. Part-Two.

The Bible is the only book that is able to tell us about the cultures of the world. All cultures outside of the Covenant people of God ancient Israel acted in the same way, with the worship of everything, animals, tales of men and the elements. Israel to fell into the temptation of the nations around it.

God in times past allowed the Gentiles to live as they were, but He did have His witness and those who sought within their own cultures to do what is right were safe with fearing Him. Romans 1:22-26, 1 Corinthians 8:4-6.

But today that has ended since most of the world knows that Jesus the one and only Son of God came and died on the cross, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven one day to return. So people have no excuses not to believe in Him. John 3:15-21, Acts 4:12.

The Fear of God. Part One.

In the past humanity was left to its own devices, to devise it’s own gods and laws to govern the people. When we look at those ancient stone structures that scatter many lands, we wonder what did the people who built those believed in? Leviticus 26:1, Romans 1:22-26, 1 Corinthians 10:20.

God did allow them to create their own ideas and they were enabled to see Him at work in the natural world around them, which if they acknowledged helped them live right lives. But now that time is over, because the Son of God Jesus, the Jewish Messiah and Savior of all men has been revealed. So no-one is without excuse to believe in Him. Acts 4:12, John 3:16-21.

Man once feared the wind, the lightning in the sky, the roaring Sea. But now we need to fear that we will not be cut off from God for eternity.

Enoch.

The day of judgement is coming and all of humanity will be convicted of their greed, evil, exploitation. but on that day there will be no chance to repent of the wrong committed. Genesis 5:18-24, Jude 14-15.

Enoch was an ordinary man who lived by faith, he walked with God and despite having a family and all the problems that life brings, he was able to maintain fellowship with God. God was so pleased with him, that he suddenly took him, translated (taken-up). Enoch disappeared one day, there were no fanfares, celebrations, parties, he just was taken.

Leviticus 26:3, Psalm 1:1, 15:2-3, 16:11, Proverbs 10:9, 21:9.

The time for Salvation is now, today, in repentance, changed attitudes.

But there must remain conditions to continuing with the Lord Jesus. Romans 6:4, 2 Corinthians 4:2, 5:7.

Pentecost, (50-Days). Part-Two.

The Holy Ghost/Spirit (Parakletos) is only given to believers in Jesus. In times past God gave the Holy Ghost to His Prophets and people he used to fulfill his plans (Exodus 31:3, Isaiah 42:1, 57:15) and will and then he could remove the Spirit. Psalm 51:11.

But we are warned that there still remains conditions to having the Holy Ghost and that we cannot take lightly the cost of the blood shed at the final atonement of the cross. We also must not insult the Holy Ghost by continuing to live as we did before we committed our lives to Him. 1 Corinthians 3:16, Hebrews 10:26-29, James 2:26.
