Seeing is believing?

What Thomas saw of Jesus was proof to him that Jesus had really risen from the dead. But Jesus said blessed are those who do not see, yet they believe. John 20:29. Over the centuries and through the generations millions of people have applied faith to believing and trusting in God, in Jesus and the Church has grown and grown. But to believe has to be by faith, not good works or anything else. 1 Peter 1:8, 1 John 4:19, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15, Hebrews 11:1, 27.

Resurrection. Part-Two.

Jesus told his disciples in the forty day period, between his resurrection and the ascension that He had been given authority both in heaven and on earth. Matthew 28:18.

During this period He also reinstated the boaster and denier Peter, (John 13:38, Matthew 26:75, Mark 14:72, Luke 22:61). Jesus put peters love and faith to the test, to see was he really that loyal. But Jesus also commissioned him to be a great evangelist, which he went on to be.

John chapter 21 is a great account of Jesus meeting meeting up by the Seashore for breakfast, a Jewish fish and chips.

Resurrection. Part-One.

Peter said ‘The Lord has really risen! Luke 24:34.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah and the one and only Son of God is the most prolific event in human history. Matthew 28:2-15, Mark 16:1-11, Luke 24:1-12 and John 20:1-18. When Jesus arose from the dead, he did not have another body, it was the same one. The scars and the marks of torture and being nailed to the cross will remain on Him for ever. John 20:26-29, Revelation 1:7. Despite the lies being told ‘that he had not risen,’ there were so many people who claimed that they had seen him.

Easter Story. Part-Three.

The Cross.

There were a lot of events occurring while Jesus was nailed on the cross that day. People stood watching, while others jeered at Him. Two criminals who deserved their punishment were also there. Jesus had to die for our sins, this was a once for all shedding of blood. This was the final and ultimate atonement for sins, it was for all who believed in his death and resurrection. Isaiah 53:12, Mark 15:27, Matthew 27:38, John 19:18, Luke 23:32-43.
